The artist considered to be the world’s greatest “forger” of pictorial art was born in Paris in 1939.
At the age of 17, he enrolled at the Academie Julian where Matisse and Bonnard, amongst other famous artists, had studied long before him. He spent 4 years there. He then went to Italy where he studied the great masters and devoted his time to studying and learning their pictorial techniques.
