Zoltan Perlmutter

Zoltan Perlmutter was an expressionist painter and sculptor. He was born in Deva, Romania. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cluj and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest. His mediums are oil, acrylic, gouache, charcoal drawings and bronze sculptures. His work is influenced by Mane-Katz and Marc Chagall. In 1950 he emigrated to Israel. His first large exhibition in Tel Aviv was in 1953, it was organized and opened by Vera Weizman, wife of the first Israeli president. Jewish images and scenes of Israel are prevalent in his paintings and sculptures.
